Once you get used to working with a Thai-style meat cleaver, you’ll never look back. Here’s what it can do:
- CHOP – vegetables, fish, whole chicken? This baby can chop anything.
- PEEL – so it looks a bit scary, but a cleaver is surprisingly delicate.
- SMASH – throw out your garlic press! The side of your cleaver crushes a clove in one, swift bash.
Apart from being super versatile, cleavers also last a long time. All you need to do is keep it clean, dry, and sharpen it once in a while. You’re also best off using a thick wooden chopping board.
